Expungement/FBI fingerprint check

I was convicted of misdemeanor theft 20 years ago in Chicago Illinois and have since had the record expunged. I now live in Nebraska and have been hired by a financial institution who is in the process of having a background criminal check and a FBI fingerprint check done on me. My question is,'will either of the two checks turn up anything at all since the record has been expunged? How can I verify that it in fact is gone?
